OK guys. I finally got all the suspension components installed and put the 350z wheels on. What do you guys think about the progress?

ACWS6, I used Progress springs, Progress RSB, KYB-GR2 shocks and struts. Everything I've done minus a few little things are in my sig.

I was askin what you did because I read in your sig you did Progress springs. It doesn't appear to sit as low as my car does with the same springs, I was just curious why. Maybe it'll settle some?

 

I like the drop, the wheels are ok. I see you updated your brakes too. IMO, I think you could of put different wheels. But to each his own.

 

Yeah it might settle some over time. What size wheels and tires are you running? Maybe that has a little to do with it...

I really like these wheels. I have always been a fan of 5 spokes and i like the style of these a lot. They kinda remind me of the old Cragar S/S wheels for some reason...Ahh nostalgia...

Thanks, man. If you are judging the height difference by the gap between the tire and the fender/wheelwell yours may seem lower because the tires I got with these wheels are SHOT! I have already ordered new ones which will help to tighten up that gap some. I honestly think ours look very similar in height besides the tire issue. The ones that came with the rim set are 245/45/18 rear and 225/45/18 front which is what I ordered to replace them.

Quick Q: I am going to change the struts and shocks in my 04 se I am going with the kyb gr2 I just need to know what else should I buy/change to do the job.
I found this on the internet http://justsuspension.com/nissan-max...2-kit1355.html Is this a good choice.
I know I have to get the rubber boots but not sure about anything else, in need of help my suspension feels like it its about to fall off going over potholes!!!
Also if anyone knows a good shop that work on our cars in CT.

I am not sure if you're still looking for an answer or not.

I would at least recommend struts mount kit but not the KYBs. I would ask PB or NTB if you trust them to get it installed if not through local shop.

I've got 4 KYBs, 2 KYB boots, 2 monroe strut mount kits, 2 moog front end links, 2 moog rear end links all together for little under $300.

I am still looking for sway bars, tie rod ends, and coil springs to complete full suspension work. I am deciding either to get progress or tein springs.

 

I would recommend Moog strut mounts. Moog is known for making great quality suspension/chassis parts. Also, if you're going to replace the end-links I would recommend the Racingline sets. Fronts: http://racinglineperformance.com/sho...&idcategory=25 Rears: http://racinglineperformance.com/sho...&idcategory=25 These allow you to adjust how the swaybars react coming into and out of turns. They are high quality, anodized, T6 aircraft grade aluminum and offer some options for the ends/bearings.

KevMaster, have you looked into the Progress rsb? I have one and I love it. Combined with the aforementioned Racingline endlinks and EnergySuspension bushings they provide great performance for a relatively heavy 4DSC.

Also SilverBeast, if you have an impact wrench and a parts store nearby that you can rent a spring compressor from, I would definitely consider doing the job yourself. My brother and I did all of my suspension work in just a couple hours at a laid back pace. We replaced everything except the fsb and none of it was hard at all. Think about it and let us know what you decide. Good luck!

I got moog end-links and monroe struts mounts for almost nothing however I am still considering getting racingline end-links. For the rsb I am still not so sure to go with progress or se-r. However prom your feedback I am leaning towards progress as well and thank you very much for your reply.

 

I just posted regarding the shocks/struts for my 2004 maxima..still confused between monroe and KyB..
Is some in LA area to do the installation ?

That price sounds great since I don't have much to spend but will sacrifice.
I would like to just drive and not keep avoiding cracks on the road.
Where did you order the parts from?
Because 300 is not bad for all that. Do I need anything else?
Also did you replace the part Seat Rubber http://forums.maxima.org/6th-generat...nsion-tsb.html I guess thats the part it makes alot of clicking noises?

I searched a lot..and found amazon to be the cheapest one with free shipping for KYB..I am planning for the 4 KYB's too..but the installation is too pricy..one local shop quoted $600..while another $400..

Whats up bud, yea i guess its possible I will do the rear my self because thats easy but as far as the fronts its 20F right now and allthough I have a garage not heated-I have a portable heater its still pretty good.
My main reason is I had a bad expierience with a strut on a older oldsmobile maybe the tool was cheap.
It almost killed me and then compressing the spring was not fun. lol
Thanx any info on buying the struts and parts to fix the horrible suspension.
Would like to spend the least I have to .
