Got owned this morning....

So as the title says, I was on my way to work and I ended up getting hit by a late model Pathfinder. The guy was behind me, and decided that I was going very slow in a school zone so he went in the right lane to pass me. Too bad he failed to see the stopped bus and tried to cut me off but misjudged the distance. Luckily we were both not driving at a faster pace otherwise I would have gotten seriously owned.

So, I'm going to my car guy David to get an estimate for the work (I will make sure to put in the front bumper that I have been meaning to get) http://www.bodykits.org/cart/view_pr...hp?ItemID=4033

Pics below of the accident ->

Let me know what you guys think.

You did call the cops right? That dude should have gotten pownd by the cops...careless driving, speeding, all near a school bus stop, could be double the fine...he'd be lucky they didn't start beating him with a batton and claimed he resisted arrest!

Anyway, you're still driving, and he's paying for your repairs I presume, so doesn't sound like you got it too bad....

Well, I was about to - but he started to plead that he just got off a 12 hour shift at the Fire Station (yes, he is a fireman) go figure.....

i felt bad since i was not hurt and like you said - he is paying for the work so it could have been worse.

just sucks that i have to go through this hassle now

Looks like you have your mind set on a RLM front bumper. I recommend against it. I have that bumper and purchased it from the same people. The bumper came with a lot of over spray that was green. had to be sanded down which took a lot of man hours. Also the fitment is not the best. not just a bolt up job. Hopefully you have someone with a lot of experience putting fiberglass bumpers on. If I did it all over again I would do the GTR bumper made of duraflex. Much better product. I cracked the bottom of my bumper less than two weeks of owning it. Still scrape on occasion with 20's and not lowered. If they made this bumper out of duraflex material then that would be awesome. Unfortunately they don't.

Thanks for that bro - I called those guys up and they sounded very shady about how much it will cost to ship to canada. I also looked at the GTR option but I was worried about how it will look with my color since I have the Radiant Ember option (didn't want it to look too ricey). I think the 6.5 gen bumper is nice and can also put a nice lip on it as a few guys have done on here.

That sucks man, glad you're not hurt. Could have been worse though and it sounds like everything's going to be taken care of. Get the GTR bumper!

IMO either of those may look ricey with that color. 6.5 bumper FTW

not too much of a difference between 6.5 and RLM bumpers.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Appreciate it!

Car is begin dropped off at my mechanic tomorrow at noon and will stay "under the knife" until Saturday afternoon. I was going to go with the GTR but decided to stick with the 6.5 gen bumper and perhaps add the lip reason below ->

Went to the Babies R Us last evening and I was approached in the parking lot by a douchy looking guy who clearly had a 6th gen that was riced to ****. He had to come over; start a BS conversation and ask all kinds of stupid questions like "nice max, you have NOS"; "oh, no lambo doors yet "eh" (yes we are in canada....)" it was brutal. At least my wife had fun - she kept saying "oh, you met a nice boy and made a new friend! - now he can teach you how to rice the **** out of your car just like his!!" ....not a fun night considering all I went to do is purchase a new Bumbo for my son, this guy was a clear bonus.....

Bummer man, but now you can upgrade. I'd go GTR for sure, I have had both and they will both require some work before painting. But the 6.5/lip option is good too!

i thought i saw on here somewhere a dude that was making a custom bumper that had a 6 gen upper half and a 6.5 gen lower half with the lip..?? this way you could keep the 6th gen grill and headlight. also the hood would line up perfect with the top of the bumper.

well, i don't have the 6th gen grill anymore - went with another option a while back. As for the lights and hood lining up, i'm not sure if that will become an issue. If so, there can be some modding done ;-)
