Maxima Custom Fog Lights .. Question.

I know the maxima has stock fog lights but they don't help much in the fog.

Winter is approaching and I want to get a pair of good custom foglights that can be installed on the front bumper.

Can you guys please advise me what are some good pair of foglights i can get for my 3.5 se maxima.

Thank you

Keep the stock fogs and just upgrade the bulbs. If you want them to actually work in the fog, get some 3000K HID's they will be your best bet. Here's a pic of mine, fogs only, no headlights on.

jmisth also has the fogs in the headlights, just check out the sylvania website to check what bulb your max uses, my 07 uses the h11 bulb, and just buy a hid kit

So your bumper doesn't have any fog lights at all? I'm new to the Maximas but I've never seen one without fogLts

No my bumper does not have any fog lights.. the only lights there are, are the ones that turn on with the signal lamps left or right.. they help you see corners at night while turning..

Do you know what are HID's exactly?

The 6th gens came with the fog lights integrated into the headlights, the 6.5 gens came with the fog lights on the bumper

No the HID kit basically replaces the factory fog light bulbs. They go in the same place the factory bulbs are.

A HID kit consist of 2 lights bulbs that are attached to a ballast, it is a plug and play system that is as easy as just replacing your light bulbs. Kits come with instructions or can be found online. You will have to remove your bumper change the bulbs thou, which isnt that hard.

Heres a video to give you a idea

video is nice, but how exactly would you keep water out of the connector? that didn't look like it had a good seal.

Well the max is different than the civic in the video, and has a different connector. I've never had a issue water going inside the connectors.

You can also search ebay, some ppl dont like buying HID's from ebay but from personal experience I've never had a problem with the ebay kits. Just try to purchase from a seller in the US just in case you need to replace it. I havent heard of any fire issues either.

you're be better off getting the HID kit from the people here.... most if not all of them are reliable sellers...

well to clear things up a bit, if you're maxima is from 2004 to 2006 then your fogs will be inside the headlight assembly... if your maxima is a 2007 to 2008 then it will be in the bumper...

6000k heads and 3000k fogs is a good combo... operatic sells good quality stuff too... goodluck with your install...

im assuming it should be easier to install compared to the 08 max because you will just be dealing with the headlight assembly only...

Why would you do the swap, just to get extra fogs in the housing in addition to the bumper? It makes sense on paper, but I don't think the 6.0 gen headlights will even fit with the 07 hood.

It is possible, however you have to do a little work on it. If you are interested, i will trade you a set of 04-06's for your 07-08's.

just saying offers out there

07-08's have a cleaner look and great setup (headlights on top and fogs on the bumper where they should be) -- you dont want to go to the 04-06 setup with the fogs in the headlight assembly...

if you do a 06 headlight and pair it with a 07 bumper the you would have 2 sets of fogs... i wonder how would that look?

Agreed. Wish I would have bought a 07-08 for that reason. And the dash is much better.
