No sound from aftermarket stereo

I attempted to install my Pioneer head unit in my 04 last night, but ended up with no sound. I tried 2 different wire harnesses - 1 Metra that said it was for amp intergration that had the speaker wires connected to RCA plugs to plug into the back of the head unit, the other without the RCAs just wiring green to green, purple to purple and so on. No matter what I tried, I got no sound. I have the factory Bose system with CD and tape player. Anyone have this problem before? Anyone know of a different/better wire harness I need to be using? I was going to cut the plugs off of the car harness and attempt to wire the speakers that way but I couldn't figure out which were the speakers wires. PLEASE HELP!

Every site I've checked on the internet shows the correct cables as being those that I tried with the RCA plugs. I'm out of ideas.

Did you connect the blue wire on the antenna adapter to the remote output on the new head unit? It powers on the antenna and Bose amp.

Maybe I connected the wrong one. The head unit has a blue/white wire that says something about remote power, or something to that effect that I connected to a blue on the wiring harness. But now that I think about it, there may be another solid blue wire on the head unit. Would that be the correct one?

Did you properly ground the unit? There is a black wire ( I beleive it is black, correct if wrong) that needs to connect to chassis. best location to ground that wire is upper left screw that holds radio/display combination metal frame in place.
As of power control, yes, it is usually blue/white wire coming from the unit. Where exactly it is supposed to go? Check FSM diagram for your particular application, there is a separate page for models with Bose, find the right connector and pin# and get it done. I beleive it is pin#5 for connector M43 plus M44 for the radio. And pin#31 for connector B127 plus B128 for Bose amp.

Alright, here's what I've finally figured out - from the factory side of the wire harness, the blue/white and the blue wires BOTH have to be connected to the blue/white wire coming from the aftermarket stereo. Also, the antenna has to be connected to the deck before it will come on. I guess it sort of acts like a ground, although not the only ground.

As stated above, connect all 3 blues together. The reason you have to make a seperate ground when installing an aftermarket is because the ground doesn't exist in the factory wiring harness. The 4 screws that hold the factory radio in are the actual ground. Get it figured out?

Yeah, I got everything figured out. But now I'm having a new issue. If I hit a bump while driving, the speakers on the left side go out. Sometimes they will come back on after I hit another bump. Sounds like a loose connection, right? Well check this out - while they (left side) are out, if I crank the stereo up pretty loud, they come back on. This doesn't sound like it's related to a loose connection. I haven't pulled anything apart to look cause I'm not exactly sure where to start!

It could be a loose connection at the speaker itself or the speaker grounding out. I have a bad connection on my factory Bose in my Yukon and the front driver's cuts out a lot and if I open and slam my door shut, it comes back on. It's more than likely the connection at the speaker or it grounding out. That is, if everything behind the dash is good.

I used the amp intergration harness and once I figured out all the hook-ups, it's working fine.

Is it turning on at all? And the black is the ground, make sure you have good metal to metal contact.
