I'll try to describe this as best I can. At certain speeds and times, I'll hear what sounds like a spinning whirring sound from under the hood on what seems the front passenger side. At times it stops completely and I can actually make it stop by taking my foot off the accelerator (it doesn't stop right away but within a few seconds). It's not constantly there but always occurs at some point. Not heard too much at high and steady highway speeds...mostly tooling around town...and never when just idling (ie-not moving). Transmission/bearing related?

UPDATE: Sound is completely gone from one day to the next. I fear something just wore away and now is going to bite me down the road.

Any clues?

 

You have any sound clips or anything? This will help people decide what's wrong with your car since there are multiple reasons why you are hearing this noise. Also, we can't be for sure without a video.
