So normally whenever it storms I park my car in the garage in anticipation of hail or winds blowing branches into it. Last night, however, I was at work when a tornado blew close by and hail the size of golf ***** fell. The hail flew sideways and my nose pointed into the storm. Now I have dents ALL over the car, every part of it. The chrome strips that run along the top need to be replaced, the weather stripping on the windows it damaged, and my grill was effed up. This really sucks because if it wasn't for WORK everything would be fine. But many people at my school had windshield damage and so did some of my co workers and a 5th gen owner on this website who I go to school with had his rear windshield blown out. Im still ticked off though

That sucks. Hail took a big chip of paint off my front bumber during this last storm as well. Gives em a reason for a new bumper though soon I hope.

Sorry to hear about the news. Hopefully your insurance takes care of it all. But, if you don't have any dents or whatever on your roof strips or grille than repainting or plasti-dipping them is always an option.

Comprehensive coverage will take care of that.Originally Posted by Lovemycar

This actually happened here in Phoenix, AZ a few months back believe it or not. Alot of cars really got messed up by it including the Classic cars over at the Ford Barrett Jackson auction. Man it was like a couple of mil of damage. When this happened though, my car was fortunate enough to have a canopy under it. I still got hit like 5x though. It was painfull watching the other cars get hit by these golf ball size hail. So yeah if you have full coverage, the insurance should take care of it. It just sucks coz its your time too. Goodluck and hopefully it works out well for you.

Those storms were CRAZY... be glad it's just your car that got damaged... the car can get fixed.
You're alive... in the end, that's all that matters!

damn i got blasted by golf ball size hail here in cleveland tn real bad all on the roof hood and trunk i cant beleve the roof spoiler didnt crack cuz the hail banging on it hard ...the gekco is paying out 3500 to me
Here are some pics of the hail damage, it was kinda hard to get pictures of the dings since they are the color of the paint so look at the reflection and the kinda distorted image is from the damage. usually the reflection is kinda clear and normal but its distorted with damage...

This is the second car that I've had get hail damage during "warm" months. Smh. Luckily the Insurance company just cut me a check to get it fixed.

Wow. Full coverage is a good thing. It's saved my butt over the years many times. A new paint job would have upped the value of your ride, too.

You should check out our product, Hail Guardian (www.hailguardian.com). We are working with large manufacturers who will license our technology and look to have it on the US market in early 2012.

Get a heat gun and some dry ice. The longer the dents are there the less likely they are to pop out after you heat it up then run the dry ice over it. Whats left that you could not get out, take it to a body shop.Originally Posted by DMAXI06

Mine happened here in the middle tn area about three weeks ago. not as bad as yours, but state farm is taking pretty good care of me.
I'm also having the guy fix up a few things I've needed touched up for years now. Can't wait to get it back in good condition
