As the title says. I installed Bosch Platinum +4 Spark Plugs in my car..I donno what I was thinking. My car has 105K miles and I needed to change the plugs. I have noticed no difference after replacing the plugs, and I presume thats a BAD sign! The original plugs were really worn out. I have seen about 1MPG gain but thats all, no change in performance good or bad. I know our cars take NGKs. Will I be ok with the Bosch for a few months? The car drives fine and I dont feel like putting in about $50 in plugs and $100 in labor!

While Bosh would not be my go to plug as long as NGK is around I'm sure they are up to the task, if you installed Champion's then...... I just replaced mine with NGK platinum at 110K and the car does not run any differently either, don't sweat it.

unless the car was mis-firing before the 1mpg gain is an awesome improvement. i even used to put cheap-o copper plugs in my turbo 240sx for tuning purposes and never saw a difference over iridiums.

as said my go to plug it ngk also but the boschs are fine for a normal car

My Max has 59,000 miles and I had been noticing some very slight shaking in the steering wheel at idle (I'm picky), while sitting at stoplights, etc. This past weekend, I replaced the original spark plugs with some NGK PLFR5A-11 plugs that were about $11 each....They were out of stock on the OE NGK Iridiums.

Since I replaced them, the idle is DEAD SMOOTH. The only other thing i did was to clean out the throttle body with carb cleaner while I had it apart and also cleaned the PCV valve and re-installed it.

I almost bought the Bosch, but quite frankly, I don't think it would have mattered.....Even though I don't have any direct experience with Bosch, only NGK and Nippondenso, I believe the original plugs were shot and it would have idled better with new plugs, regardless.

I just wanted a quality plug that would last another 50-60K since they're a bit of a pain to change.....and not having any experience with Bosch, I wasn't taking a chance.

I haven't had it out on the road yet to re-check my gas mileage, but I was getting 23 MPG highway. Going to check it again this upcoming weekend.

I've heard a lot of mixed reviews of the bosch plus 4 plugs. The stock ngk iridium plugs would probably last 200,000 miles or more. I actually pulled a set out of a friend's car at a little over 90,000 miles and the gap was exactly where it should be for brand new plugs.

Thanks

Chern's is a boosted ap. Just get the OE NGK's, they are already gapped. I would get platinum with as much of a pain in the rear as it is to change those back 3 plugs.

Price!!!, works just as good as NGK, had them in since going boost over 3 years ago with zero issues and they are made as an OEM replacement for the Maxima!

Autolites are pre-gapped also!

i dont understand how this topic keep coming up! bosch plugs run in E U R O P E A N cars and run like butthole in most everything else, especially japanese cars.

i personally think bosch should stick to staplers :milton:

That's a great price! Link and does that include shipping? They run $9.99 in MD but the reason I went with Autolite is they can be gapped and NGK cannot. But on a side note I'm boosted so I needed a plug that can be gapped, those reading this go with OEM pregapped size and leave it alone!

My point is NGK are great plugs but there are other options but not a fan of Bosch other than my Bosch ICON windshield wiper blades!

Thank you for the inputs. As said before I havent seen much of a difference. Idle is smooth at about 750RPM so I dont think the Bosch's are acting up. I will drive them for a couple of months and if the car starts acting up NGK it is!
