Yellowing of Black between chrome and rear window?

Hi,

On my '07, the black part between the chrome trim and rear window has yellowed and I was wanting to know if anyone else has had this problem and a good way of fixing it. I didn't know if anyone has tried to repaint it.

Its hard to see in the picture but if you look right next to the strip you can see it doesn't look right.

Looks like it has just yellowed from being in the sun. The black grill on my S10 pickup did the same thing.

The one on the right is worse than the one on the left. The one on the left has only yellowed on the top part right next to the chrome trim.

Same thing on my car. Going to try to repaint it, but for the time being I'm just going to stick some blackout tape on it.

i noticed this as well this weekend while detailing my car.. along with a lot of small chips in my paint that had spots of rust forming :/ but that's another issue. Like twenty eggs suggested plastidip worked well for someone else here on the forums in another post about the chrome roof strips.

I was thinking of seeing if I could sharpie it (ghetto) and see how well that would stay until I got around to it.

Yea, got that problem too. Its the paint wearing off the platic. It seems like the primer didn't take to well on that surface... This summer i am going to take out the "chrome" strips and paint them blck, or a gun metal color. WHen i taclke this job, i will then repaint my spacer thiang in the back window area...
