Getting Body work done...
Im getting my rear bumper passenger rear door n passenger quarter panel painted by a independent body shop and I think the painter mentioned that she is going to call napa to get the paint. My question is whether or not Napa carries good quality paint. Im a little worried about the long term effects after the paint job peeling, discoloration etc. should I buy my own paint and bring to them . IVe heard of brand names like dupont and ppG'.. I dont want to waste my money n let them use napa paint n it come out bad when I can get the paint myself

for a quality paint job even at an "affordable " body shop you are looking at 4-800 per panel. With red and three stage pearl basecoats being more expensive. If you want a quality job, dont go to the dealer. They use the same materials as the independent . There is no such thing as "nissan paint". Use a smaller independent shop in your area that has a good following. Read reviews online and ask to see photos of past jobs. In my opinion you get what you pay for. Quality prep work and paint work takes time.
If you take your car to a body shop and they tell you to order the paint, then well they are not a body shop. Even the smallest indy shops have a paint system and mixing bank onsite.
I have years of experience in used car sales and auto body estimating and auto repair service writing.
If you don't give a ****, go to a Maaco....

Man, you're not seeing the forest for the trees by focusing on the paint instead of the quality of the overall job. You were quoted a Maaco price and that's what you're going to get in terms of work quality. Take it to the body shop your dealer recommends and see what they say. Also, be prepared to pay upwards of $1000 for a decent job; and BTW, the rear bumper cover should be removed while it is being painted.

Auto Body Shop truly takes pride in their work to make the body, however only one out of every odd specialist is the best in the business. Furthermore, as people, they once in a while commit errors.
