Hard Downshift on 2005 SE

At lower speeds my transmission downshifts with a pretty good jerk and sometimes it does the same thing when shifting in the lower gears. It doesn't appear to be a serious transmission problem because it changes quite well at faster speeds and higher gears.
Any ideas? Thanks
