Power steering fluid

Ok i haven't seen a 100% answer on this, I seen om previous gen to the 6th ppl say to use ATF, now can we use the same on our 6th gen? Some ppl say that power steering works at a higher pressure, I have read the manual but it doesn't state anything about using ATF but only to use NISSAN GENUINE PSF where the heck can I find this Nissan PSF from, lol

All Nissan products use Dexron 3 ATF in the power steering system.

I am pretty sure that your car uses the afore mentioned Dexron 3 or Dexron 4 power steering fluid (make sure you look in the owner's manual for the spec since it would matter in the seal preservation of the system in the future). I have always driven my newer cars with the factory fluids - yes, I do give money to the stealerships for things like power steering fluid and brake fluid. But, Motul has great products if you'd like to go performance.

Transmission fluid is what is in mine as of last month. Used a turkey baster to siphon the fluid out of the reservoir then refilled with ATF and turned the steering wheel all the way in both directions a few times. Repeat the process three or four times and your done.

When I had my 06, I called several dealers and all told me to put PSF in the car, when I went to my local dealer to buy it they told me to go to autozone and get PSF,

4: For Canada, NISSAN Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF), DEXRONTM III / MERCONTM or equivalent ATF may also be used

Dexron is mentioned for Canada because, by consumer law, in Canada (US apparently have no such a law), manufacturer can not advertise and push their own brand, therefore, generic brand is allowed to be listed in maintenance schedules and such. Long story short, YES, you can use Dexron ATF as your power steering fluid.
