ebay catback Exhaust question

Im about to buy a ebay catback exhaust, just had a few questions about it.

1. do i loose any low end or high end power?

2. is there a better brand, better built outta the 4 different ones ebay has?

3. Is gas millage the same?

I believe they are all the same brand.
I didn't notice much power gain/loss in any band.
Gas mileage... eh. I have a heavy foot so I couldn't tell ya.

If you go with it, paint it with high temp paint to prevent rusting.

i have had an ebay exhuast for a few months now and i have loved it since day one. some of the welds arent great so i painted all the pipes with exhuast paint. it sounds great and you might see 1mpg gain from it and feel the car breathe better. as with NA bolt ons just 1 doesnt do alot but when you stack intake, y pipe and exhuast etc together is when you really wake up the car.

just this week my one hange almost broke off. i caught the muffler hanging a little low and got to an exhuast shop who fixed the weld for $20 and now im good to go.

unless you really have money to burn, in which case you prolly arent modding a maxima, i say paying $1000 for greddy or nismo exhuast is a waste.

even if you replaced the ebay every year it would take 5 years to cost as much as a name brand whos exhuast also get rusty and crappy over time

I bought a Magnaflow catback exhaust and i totally noticed the noise difference.. as of horsepower, i noticed a bit of a difference but not much. but like they said, if it ain't stainless steel, paint it to prevent rust

1. do i loose any low end or high end power? - a few people told me you will notice some low end loss, have not seen any yet.

2. is there a better brand, better built outta the 4 different ones ebay has? - as mentioned you can go with Greddy; Nismo etc, but you will pay for it. I'd rather spend the $$ somewhere else. This exhaust system performs very well.

3. Is gas millage the same? - meh; I get @ss raped with fuel prices anyways up here in TO so not a big problem for me.

Hope this helps ya out brother

They ebay exhaust is much cheaper($-200 ...compared to $800+) ...sounds good ... free shipping ...

no there is no low end loss *facepalm* improved my 60 foot actually ...

look great ... just needs a Wipe down with CLR cleaner every once a month or 2 weeks ... depending on your roads ...

Anyone questioning this exhaust doesnt know much about modding a car. Figure out the dollar per HP. You cant go wrong with this system. I have, it looks great, sounds good, noticable on the *** dyno. I have had 3 z's, 2 maxima's, and a 240. This buy far is the best exhaust system for the moey I have ever had.(BTW, i have had stillen, magnaflow, flowmaters, spintech, dynomax) If the Greddy or Nismo gave you a proven 20-30 hp gain, it still would not be worth it. If you want it to look nice, sound good and let the engine breath a little better, buy one. If you want your car to haul ***, loose weight, take everything out of your car, put it on 15" wheels and put Nitrous in it. At what point are you trying to squeeze blood out of a turnip.

This. I still get 25mpg combined and about 28-30mpg freeway. If anything, I've noticed better throttle response becuase the engine breathes easier.

nope, low end you def lose. maybe the people who say they don't is because they go need for speed at every light but if you press the gas and accelerate lightly, i feel like something is holding me back, something i didn't feel with the stock exhaust. and my gas mileage decreased dramatically...from 20mpg to 14...WTF

Sounds like you have more problems than what you're letting on. My mileage has stayed the same.

I've got it. I changed the tips and painted it so it wouldn't rust like the one I had before.

First exhaust.

Second time around.

Mine are just as high and I've had no issues with the bumper heating up and burning/melting anything.
