Custom Catback complete!!!!

As the title says, I purchased the catback system and immediatley hated the fugly single canister mufflers that came with it so I chopped those bad boys off and got me a set of Vibrant 1148's (thanks to Oolatec for his sound clip from youtube - yes, it's still on there bro!!)

Video will be posted tomorrow. I have to say I am LOVING this setup and the sound is exactly what I wanted.

Very nice man. It fits with the theme that you have going on if I remember correctly. Always liked the vibrant mufflers and good choice going with the duals.

good job!
looks like i'm back to the drawing board.
i bought my 02 SE with a fart can on it so I cut that out and ran a straight pipe (catback) with a resonated tip......AWFUL sounding.....*yuck*.
yesterday, I just installed a super 40 flowmaster. Not really liking it....
for one, the drone almost drove me crazy this morning.
Also, I like the sound of a straight through muffler than a baffled muffler.
So again.....back to the drawing board.
I may go Magnaflow now......

thanks buddy! coming from a guy who has a very clean max it's appreciated - as for the theme, you are right on - slowly completing the black and orange

i liked the single 3 inch mufflers that came with the catback but it just looked like it would fit an altima better you know....

i met up with a buddy of mine last evening who has the magnaflows w/o the catback, just y-pipe; headers and mufflers and the car sounds like a freaking jet!!!

it's crazy loud IMO - but he loves it and the attention it brings so to each their own I guess...

Lol, no, I'm not trying to get obnoxious. Lol
There's just a certain sound I'm chasing.
No muffler gave me a pretty good sound, but it would die out at higher rpms.
This flowmaster isn't too bad, but a lot of drone, plus it kinda dies out at higher rpms, plus I noticed baffled muffs don't allow for the type of exhaust breathing I like.
I have regain low end torque going from no muff to flowmaster, but that gurgle btwn shifts as the rpms drop is what I am after and baffled muffs steal that away.
I had straight through magnaflows in a Contour SVT and that was music to my ears.

I really hate $$$ dropped chasing a sound. Lol

i hear you man, took me three different set-up's before I finally settled on this one. Hope you find that amazing sound, I know it's a pain to drop the $$$ but it's SO worth it once you do!!!

Sweet man! I LOVED those mufflers. I'd get them for my G, but the tips are too short and I don't think it'd look right. Besides, the CBE I have for it now uses Sebring mufflers, which are great too. But I hate trying to keep the polish clean!

dude, I hated the single canister ones that came with the catback and after finding your video with these bad boys on the max I was sold. Vibrant has a location close to me so I ended up picking up a set for less than the Magnaflow's. I am LOVING the sound and the black look

No problem and thanks for the compliment. Yeah, I'll agree with what you said. 6th gens look a lot better with dual mufflers which just adds to the look of it. Hopefully you can add some updates when you get the chance. Ride is the nicest orange 6th gens I've seen.
