Headlight trouble

I have OEM HID headlights and recently started getting some headlight condensation on one of them. Then later my head light went out. Figured it was just the bulb, so i went out and bought a replacement. i took the whole healight out and began the process of resealing while also replacing the bulb. But i noticed that the old bulb does not look burned out. So i started to suspect something else might be the problem. Long story short, neither the old or new bulb work. Amber lights and turn signal work fine but no regular light or high beam. Any ideas what might be wrong and how much im looking at for repair? Thanks

It's probably your ballast.

Like Chris Said, it's the ballast. Seach for used Maxima ballast at ebay, that's probably your best bet. Stay with OEM.

If you noticed condensation inside of your headlights. More than likely there's some moisture on your bulbs, connection/harness, or in extreme cases it can lead to a blown fuse. It's not going to help much re-sealing your headlights unless it's been dried.

So, take your headlights out of your car. Take out the bulbs, harness, and "rain gaurd". Place them in a 250 degree oven for 10 minutes. This will dry it out and there will be no more remaining moisture inside of it.

Then you can re-seal it with some RTV clear silicone sealant. Afterwards, make sure that you keep it in a dry environment for 24 hours or more. As indicated in the instructions.

You should take both head lamps off of the vehicle and do some tests before you go making a purchase that you may not even need.. Plug the head lamp that doesn't work to the other side that does work.. If it lights up, it could be your ballast.. If it doesn't light up, it could wiring issue's or the bulb.. Hope this helps..
