Alarm keeps arming by itself.

I was driving home in my 05 max yesterday and noticed that the doors kept locking on their own randomly over and over again...kind of like I was pressing the lock button on the key fob while I was driving. When I parked it and shut the door the alarm arms itself over and over again. Honk Honk Honk Honk over and over again. I took the battery out of my key fob thinking maybe the lock button was stuck however it still continues to lock. I basically have to leave the door ajar to keep it from honking while I have it parked.

Has anyone had this problem? Whats wrong with it?

Sorry disregard that, i just read your post in full. It is not your auto-lock feature..

what that sounds like is you have some electrical issues. maybe a bad wire, a short, or something like that.

Is it just the doors locking and the alarm goes off if you try and open it, or does the alarm go off automatically after the car locks?

i bought a junker acura legend (still ran, barely) i bought for 200 bucks for the sole purpose of destroying it by joyriding and driving off some jumps and intentionally crashing it ect.. and the door locks locked themselves randomly multiple time irregardless of whether or not the car was on or off. The problem was a burnt or old solenoid. something the maxima is known for. but if your alarm is going off so i think you can rule that out.

had the same problem with my '06, kept locking and unlocking while driving. tried changing the battery in the key fob and that didn't work. ended up just going away by itself the same day...weird though.
