Is the backfire/popping also coming from the intake?

The intake manifold isn't sealed properly then. You're probably gonna have to take the intake manifold back off and re apply the sealant better than you did before.

Did you wait for the sealant to dry before starting the car by the way?

Yes. I did achidentally move the valve in the throttle body when I was cleaning it. I heard that it messes up the tb timing?

That wouldn't cause it. You have a vacum leak somewhere after the throttle body.

I don't think it is the tb timing because I am not throwing a code. I found a small bit of moisture where the throttle body ends and the intake manifold begins... So I'm going to redo it and report back

the im spacers come with an auto cam upgrade lol

on a serious note ...

tb timing would'nt cause the car not to run at all .. i would re check every thing and make sure you did everything right ... check the vias/maf all the censors everything

at what point does the car die ?

It starts up and immediate dies without throttle

Not to sound cocky, but I know for a fact that I'm right. I've swapped intake manifolds enough times to know what certain symptoms mean. if I'm wrong though, I will admit it ASAP.

Ok i talked to Cory and I forgot to do a step. There is a bracket in the back of the IM. I didn't see or feel it resting on anything but I took it out anyways. Hopefully that was the little grimlen. I also resealed everything really thick this time. Wish me luck. I'm about 10 min away from turnin the key.

I also want to add that Cory is awesome for the customer service he provides. This alone is worth the money. He spent lots of time helping me trouble shoot. I'd suggest printing out Cory's instruction as he has figured out through much trial and error all the little things that need to be done that you wouldn't know otherwise.

My mistake to do this without reading his detailed instructions first

If you keep your foot on the gas to keep the car on, once the car warms up a little it will stay on by itself. But of course as stated, will idle rough.

Usually, the first thing people do is toss that bracket after the intake manifold comes off the first time. But anyways, that definitely was the cause of your vacum leak. Glad you got it figured out though and I'm glad that cory helped you out. Good business practice there.
