P1402 code n EGR Valve

wheres the location of the EGR vavle? i need to replace mine to get rid of my p1402 code...

Its right under the throttle body.

thanks yeah i foudn it, and then i took it off and two peices of gasket or something fell out, its was clogged up....

Did replacing the egr valve solve your problem? I just had this same code pop up two days ago on my 04...

yes, i replaced it last night.. the code and engine light instanly went away after the new install, and as my father and i further took the old egr apart cuz i wanted to see inside we found two peices of either gasket or some kind of fire proof material inside the EGR......

What probably fell out was convertor material, It is a somewhat common thing here lately that the rear cat comes apart and gets in the EGR making it stick and throw a code.

midnight max.. i got mine for like 40 bucks.......

sppdracer =it was actually part of the gasket from the egr pipe up against the manifold.. i broke off and got sucked thru the pipe......

They tend to get clogged by broken off particals from the catalytic converters.. Check them cats

You can run a resistor and delete it entirely but I would only recommend that if you plan to get tuned. Of course if you plan to get tuned you can always have the EGR codes deleted.
