I have been running gutted exhauset manifold cats along with racingline ypipe for about 2 years. As long as you trick the ecu by setting the secondary o2 sensors out from the exhaust stream then you will not have a CEL. I entertained the idea of headers and racingline asked me to be part of their design project(test car) for their precats but I got anxious and decided to gut the cats and skip the wait for precats and cost of headers. There is quite a performance noticeable performance boost by doing this but the car also smells like gas when you walk behind it. Our cars run rich from the factory and I dont have a tune. I have been planning to get a tune I just havent gotten to it. Let me know if you have any other questions?

It's not as easy as just gettin ebay headers and slapping them on and calling it a day or thats what I would've done. There is much modification that must be done to those headers to get them to fit properly, plus they are not long tube headers anyway and they sound like sh#t. Not worth it in my opinion.

Im only gutting them for my turbo appilacation becuz the cats would get blown out due to all the forced air flow, but i wanted to drive around with them gutted now so

You will notice a performance increase by gutting them. How big of a turbo are you putting on?

Do they even still make headers for 04+ models? I've had no luck finding them...

Whatever fits the Altima should nearly be a direct fit for the A34 chassis. I'd keep my eyes open for a set of 02-06 Altima headers.

So they may need some motification? I just recently bought an 04 and haven't had any past experience with them. I know when I bought an eBay header for my old civic it just needed some modification for the exhuast donut to fit properly. I didn't know if it needed motification how intense it would be.

might aswell just take those pre cats off and replace with just 2 nice curved pipes at a muffler shop or something....

the stock precats are a horrible and not to mention heavy as hell
