My new ride :-)
Hey, guys. It's been a while. As you all know, I've had tons of problems with the Maxima and transmission problems. I took the plunge and bought a new ride, a brand new 2012 Nismo. It's not my dream car, the GTR, but close enough.
I still kept my maxima and I'm currently getting it tuned. I decided to keep her since I've done so much to her plus I bought her used, so she's paid for. I'll use the maxima as my daily driver since the Nismo is only a 2-seater. All I can say is God is good. I was really in a bind as to what to do about my maxima and what car I should get since I had initially planned on keeping her till I get my GTR after paying off med school loans, but God came through and provided me with multiple enjoyable extra job shifts to increase my salary and provide. I was able to get it below invoice and at a 2.67% interest rate. My dad had helped me with the initial pick up of the car; he was skeptical about me buying a sports car, but loves it, especially after I told him he could take it for a spin whenever he wanted.
Without further ado, here are the pics.

looks really good. I am debating between the 370Z or the G37. I graduate in 1.5 years and my graduation present to me will be a new car that i can pour all my money into. From others experiences, both the Z and the G heavily modified are successfully putting down 450-500 WHP and in the corvette territory without complication. I think the Z would be better on the track, but the G offers AWD... and if you have ever driven a turbo charged AWD car like the EVO X its intoxicating...
Personal preference in size causes me to lean toward the G37 because its larger and can seat people in the rear. I also want a larger car because i've been in 4 high speed crashes (50-70 mph) and i've deducted that likely hood of surviving a crash is directly related to the size of the car you are in. One crash was in a suburban towing a trailer, we hit the center divide and went up and over at around 70mph, didn't have a scratch on me. another was in a transam, i had some bruising in my collar bone from the seat belt, a headach and some cuts from air bag shrapnel. a car clipped us and we skidded into a tree. (at about 45mph) The last major accident i can relate to this was in a porche boxer, (small car). That crash was significantly lower in speed and severity, however, i was really banged up. I couldn't walk for 3 weeks. I had a gash on my head, severely bruised hip, bruised face, cuts on my face, arms, hands, temporarily lost my hearing, bad headach, lots of seatbelt bruises, ribs bruised, ect... we spun out on an on ramp and hit a ditch (about 40 mph). i was the passenger in all of these cars btw. the 4th crash is not really relevant. These three crashes were crashes that involved crashing into a large fixed unmovable object and the larger the vehicle the less i was hurt. So in short, i am very wary of smaller cars because crashes happen. the less metal between you and whatever can hit you means higher forces of deceleration (G's). the smart car has great crash rating, because part of the ratings include the structure of the car in the end. even tho the shell of the smart car is perfectly intact and shape, the people inside are like scrambled eggs!!
but then again, the 370Z just looks sexy as hell, very similar to the GTR which is going to be my midlife crisis car, as long as something cooler doesn't come out, which it probably will...
if they make the Z AWD i will be sold despite its size.

Great buy!!! Looks good. Congrats on your purchase. Glad to know you could still keep your Maxima with the Z. That Z does look really nice. I just wish Nissan could make that Nismo a little more aggressive looking than the other regular Z.
