05 maxima 6speed

Hello everyone. I don't know if it has been said before but here it goes, I have a 05 Maxima 6speed, can I swap an 05 quest engine into the maxima without having any problems? Would I have to swap parts and maybe have the car programmed?

It's the same engine with different programming. You'll have to spend a lot of money to find that out. I'd like to see where this thread goes

True true, I heard there's a difference between maxima and quest injectors? And when you say spend a lot of money, would I need the maxima to get tuned?

I would only assume an engine will cost a ton, swapping out ECU's and everything that works with that engine, then the labour would run you a couple of hundreds even thousands. I mean if your goal is to gain a little more power you might want to go a different route.

Spacers,BOP,headers,CAI,light weight crank pulley, tune, catback, cams, pistons, connecting rods, light weight flywheel,stage1,2,3 clutch and the list goes on and on. Not that i'm trying to deter you from your goals i'm saying that swap will cost you more than you think.

I mean if you're really into speed get a turbo or supercharge. But if you want to go on with that swap i'd like to see it.

I am curious, why would you want to do this swap? same engine, marginal if any power gain.

Depends. The upper oil pan might not be compatible with your 6 speed. All i know is that if you get a 07-08 engine off a maxima with CVT, it will bolt right up to a 6 speed as i did that in my case with a 07 engine.

Just to confirm, you took a 07-08 motor (CVT Transmission) and installed it in your 6th gen 6MT?

engine will fit all you need to do is swap everything from your old engine such as

upper & lower oil pan
knock sensor with the harness it has
upper intake manifold
fuel rail

and then once everything is swapped over motor install is very very easy straight foward

the cps sits different on the auto thats why we have to swap over the upper and lower oil pan

i have a 05 maxima engine with 46k in mines and its been over a yr since the swap and i have no issues and i did everything as mentioned above

Yeah, fit fine, did not swap the upper oil pan. The block looks inconsistent with the transmission, but it bolt up normally without any abnormal issues.
