Dont know sh$@ about Nissan and need a little help
So here is the problem today on my G/F's way home her 06 Maxima 3.5 SE stalled out on her the car pretty much locked up on her. As she was stopped to pull into our parking structure her steering locked up (she may not be able to handle no power steering though), the brakes could not be pushed down, the ABS, TCS, SLIP and check engine light all came on. When this happen she immediately put the car in park or neutral (she has no idea) and turned it off. In order to get the car into neutral in order to move it she had to use her gear unlock, don't know if that's the right terminology for it. One of the mechanics that lives at the complex looked at it and messed around with the throttle sensor and it started back up. When I got home I went and looked at it and drove it, it drove fine. I looked at all the connections to the MAF and throttle body and everything seemed to look good.
Could anybody help me troubleshoot this so I don't need to hit up the dealership!!

Thats what i have been reading is that it went into safe mode but have not found anyone with the similar issue and to what could cause that to occur. The only CEL that pops is the service engine soon light, which was not on prior to the incident.

Just called autozone to head over to get the codes read and the lovely state of CA banned autozone from allowing that service, due to the fact that they are not a repair shop. I hate this damned state!!

Went out and bought one, the code it is throwing is a P0340 crank shaft position sensor A - Bank 1 circuit malfunction.

May or may not stall. Mine just went into safe mode. Able to drive it but will seem like tranny is blown. No warning signs really. Just light on and in safe mode. Usually will happen way past warranty.
