Premature tire wear on '08 SL

My '08 Max has about 90K miles now and I'm about to put the 4th set of tires on it. We bought it new. At 6K miles, I went to my Firestone dealer and bought a lifetime balance / alignment / rotation to the tune of $140. I maintain the tires religiously and have the paperwork to proove it. The original tires lasted about 35K, which is typical. I replaced them with a set of Bridgestone Torenza touring tires that are their top of the line tires with a 65K miles warranty guarantee. That set melted off the car with only ~35K miles on them and were replaced under the guarantee and prorated for a new set. Now, the 3rd set is about done with only 90K miles on the car!

I searched for this type of issue using the search function, but nothing came up. Anyone have any ideas?

Car does not pull. My wife drives it and she doesn't beat the car up. No one is doing burn-outs with it either - no teen drivers in the family.

Well, my guess is you do not religiously as you say. I am a very good example of religiously rotating, balancing and doing an allignment.

I, like you bought my 08 brand new. I went ti discount tire and bought lifetime balance and rotation. I went to firestone and bought lifetime allignment. I have all these for all sets of tires I have ever owned on my Maxima. I religiously did this every 5,000miles until I started using synthetic oil at which point, I do my oil change every 10,000miles and on the same day, I go do my balance and rotation at discountires and drive to firestone and get my lifetime allignment.

I put about 40k on stock tires. BUT, I sell my tires before they go bald so that I can get value off of it. So, I ALWAYS sell my tires and get $150 or $200!!! I do this on all sets of tires I ever own. I put this amount towards the next new set of tires.

The next set of tires gave me about 40k. And I sold it for $200, so I could buy me my current next set of tires. My current set of tires has already about 30k and the tires are only just getting to halfway used. Look at my thread below to see the current tires I have. And I must mention to you that I use ONLY all season tires. Maybe you use summer tires and maybe they just get used up more.

I don't do burn outs, but because I go 120mph as if it was my 70mph, I do a lot of emergency braking, which is supposed to use up my tires. But my tires are still top notch.

So, on my 3rd set of tires right now and my car is at 119,000mile on odometer.

Petit, your info is practically useless to me. I too change my own oil w/ full synthetic, however I change at 7K. I also go the same weekend and rotate / align / balance the tires. I already said I do this religously, why are you questioning it? Just plain rude. Thanks for nothing.

It is not rude, sir. I am just surprised your tires wear out so quickly. If the car is being maintained as you say, and the allignment is being done religiously too, then I am surprised you are going through tires really fast. With such maintenance that you mentioned, I am sure your tires should last you till 40k. So, maybe you need to provide some other info that could help figure out why you have the premature tire wear.

For my best guess before I read your post was that you do not do your allignment enough or that you do not balance and rotate your tires. But since you say you do those religiously, then I don't know what would be making your tire wear out so prematurely. Any more info you could share?
