2004 Max won't turn over....electrical issues

Hello all,
today I went out to start my car, and when I turned the key, all of the dash/gauge lights went out and just died. if I tried to turn it again the lights just stayed off. when I removed the key for a few seconds and tried again, the lights were back on, but the same thing happened when I tried to start her. i disconnected the battery for a few seconds, reconnected it, and it started right up. when I got out of the restaurant and back into my car, it did the same damn thing, and this time disconnecting and reconnecting the battery didn't work. would this just be a simple dead battery issue? it wouldn't make sense to me. it started right back up the first time i disconnected it...

the car doesn't ever completely lose power though. door locks/stereo/eletric seats/etc still funny functional all the time.

Either the battery, terminals, or frame ground below the battery tray. Clean any corrosion off the terminals and make sure they are tight. Also check the frame ground under the battery tray to see if it is coming loose from the terminal. Disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it may have situated the ground with in the terminal at the frame ground just enough to start. If all else fails then get you battery tested and possibly buy a new one.

make sure the terminals are nice and tight.
If that doesn't work get a new battery.
