should i buy

I have a chanch to purchase an 05 se at auction. The car isnt in running condition, it does turn over with a jump, there is no battery, and the red security light is blinking all the time when u try to start the car. I dont know if i should gamble on the car or not. Its very clean w 129,000 miles. Anyone have advice?

Yeah. Unless you can find a way to verify that the transmission works properly, run far away, as quickly as you can.

You didn't say what you expect to pay for it...considering it's high mileage, and you're stuck holding the bag if it's got a lot of problems, I'd suggest you stop at $4k. Figure another $6k in repairs would be the upper end, then you'd have a nice car for $10k...
