need advice from maxima experts
sooo i just had the transmission rebuilt on my 04 max...when i went to the shop to pick it up...the idle on it was insanely low, like to the point it would barely even stay running unless u throttled the gas to keep it going...so i take off and head home all excited to finally have my car back after 3 weeks of not having it. On the way home i began noticing a severe lack of power and response when i gave it gas to climb a hill..so i panic and call the shop and they instruct me to return it so they could have a look at it. the tech comes out with his computer and hooks it up and says its giving a p1800 code and ill need to replace the VIAS(?) solenoid. furthermore they advise me the only way to do this is to buy the whole throttle body...is there any truth to this? is this problem common? does anyone have any experience dealing with this?

I'm having a very similar issue on my 2000 GLE. I took it to a dealership and they "upped the idle" (no idea what that means) and it resolved the stalling-in-idle issue. Now it is having the same issues that you described.

Only because preez halp. The vias selenoid is on the the intake manifold and there is a hose that runs the from there to the vias plate. Theres a second hose connect the vacuum tank. Make sure everything is connected correctly. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...iasdelete2.jpg
Also dont let them work on your car anymore. Obviously they eat **** because your throttle body is fine. Also. Peep this
