2004 5spd A/T driver side axle

Hello to all that may remember me. Been out of the loop on everything for quite some time now.

I have replaced my driver side axle before on my 04' Maxima, but this time I am stumped as to why it does not want to come out of the transmission. The hub, knuckle, brakes, and shock are all out of the way, just ready to yank the damn thing out of the trans, but it won't budge. I've used different crow bars, pounded on the thick metal housing before the shaft, wiggled it, turned it, had it in park/neutral, and no dice. The driver side does not have any bolts keeping it in place, that is just the passenger side. I'm no weakling either, so when I tried forcing the damn thing, there was definitely some pressure and it didn't budge at all.

What can be holding it? Can it be seized somehow? This axle is much newer with less mileage than the axle before that I replaced. Is that c-clip on the shaft broken in there and causing it to not come out properly??

Any and all suggestions would be very helpful, as I am very stumped why this thing isn't coming out. .........please don't tell me that the trans has to be taken apart...

Thanks,
Daniel
