My new 05 Maxima SE
First post, just went and bought a 2005 nissan maxima se with the 5 speed auto. It has only 76,400 km (47,472 miles) and is extremly clean. It does not have any issue with the 5 speed auto (knock on wood). I plan to keep this car for a good deal of time so maintenance will come before mods (doing a complete fluid change in the next month or so). I plan to smoke the tail lights, get window tints and HID in the front head lights (including fogs). Eventually, i will get it lowered and an exhaust + air intake, but thats a long ways away.
There is one thing that is problematic with it right now. The owner told me that he had new brakes put on it this summer (confirmed by the mechanic i brought it to get inspected) and he told me that the front right dics had warped. Now it makes noise (sort of intermittent but at steady intervals, decreasing with speed) only when i apply the brakes and only under 20km/h. Should/can i leave this or should i get this looked at soon.

Congrats on the new 6thgen. I see that you're not wasting time on the mods. Props to that. Not sure if you considered buffing the tail lights to get a high gloss shine, I did it and it looks amazing. Learn about the car before you start experimenting on it, and take it easy on that tranny. Oh and when it comes to your brakes that's a no brainer to have it checked ASAP. Besides neglecting it will just cost you unnecessary money in the long run. Oh and get in the habit of checking your oil level 1-2 every week and top it up when needed. Other that that man you'll enjoy the comfort and power she has to offer, well you'll enjoy it more when you start modding and beautifying her up...

88rotors has the cheapest rotors offered for this maxima. They are drilled and slotted vented and are a much higher quality than the stock rotors. The best part is they are 90 bucks a pair!!! I've had them on my car for a year and I race my car and abuse those brakes like crazy, they hold strong and don't fade like stocks. I also have blue hawk pads. My biggest complaint with this car is the braking performance, let's be honest, it really sucks. This is must in upgrading. Seriously 90-100 bucks a pair for brand new rotors is crazy cheap, and they are a good quality.
