AC weak, stopped working, started again?

rad fan spins like crazy when ac is on, normal?

weak as in weak air movement? or just not blowing very cold air? the air cycling on and off, and the air not blowing very cold are both direct indications of low pressure. may want to double check your gauge readings. only other thing that would cause it to cycle on and off could be the clutch going out. but that wouldnt keep the air from blowing cold when it did work

 

radiator fans are supposed to blow when your AC is on, so yeah that part's normal.

manually force the AC to high...does it work right? Or do you have auto climate control?

 

I had an 04, and my 07 both have/had a leaking low pressure hose. It is the hose where you charge the a/c. Look closely around the compression fittings of the hose. If it looks like there is oil or grease surrounding the crimp there is a leak. The part for my 07 is about 100 bones and 15 minutes of time for the labor. THen you have to recharge...

I am picking up my part tomorrow, doing the work over the holiday.

 

wasnt blowing very cold lately so I got a walmart kit to try to refill... presure seemed ok according to gauge. did a mess with the kit. Seems worse than it was before. wasted 50$.

I think I'll have to go to the dealership to have it checked and properly taken care of.,..

 

Chech that hose. Its an easy fix.. dealer will charge 400 dollars...

 

no oil around hose, #1 clean

 

soooo? compressor is dead ?

 

works #1 when it works, blows damn cold.

works half the time.... sometimes super cold, sometimes suoer hot.
