First time, long time. Mod advice?

Hey everyone. This is my first post on the forums but I've been using them tips, tutorials, etc. I have a 2008 SE, super black, mostly stock everything, 36K miles.

I've had this vehicle for 2.5 years now and have recently decided that I want this car long-term. Hence, I'm willing to spend a little $ on some mods.

When I purchased the car, all the windows were tinted (illegally), including the visor strip on the windshield (too thick, by law). I loved the way it looked but after the 3rd ticket for the illegal front tint, I had the front window tints reduced to the maximum legal percentage which, in VA, is basically no tint at all.

I would like to start doing some things to improve the look and performance of my Max. I need new front rotors and pads and I've been reading up on painting the calipers and rotors. I think I'm going to paint them black. I've also been reading up on blacking out the chrome strip on the roof that runs along each side of the car, because they are faded and don't match the shiny chrome parts on the front and rear ends of the strip.

I can most likely handle these mods on my own, but I am wondering what else I can do as an amateur at this. Little, inexpensive things that make a big difference. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
