Front end trouble, looking for advice/mechanic in NY/NJ area that knows 6 Gen
Hello everyone,
I own an automatic '05 SL, and I am having some issues with it, and would like to know if anyone could recommend me someone in the NY/NJ area that knows the 6th gen well. I have a problem list that I would like to tackle, and am on a budget, so help is appreciated. Some problems I am having are:
- sound at idle, varies with wheel turn (steering pump?)
- vibration & clattering, worst between 65 & 75MPH, worsens with banks to the left
- front end feels "loose"
- occasional click under hard acceleration
- belt squealing/intermittent catching while turning (while car is cold)
- squeaking & scraping during slowdown (from front left side)
- heat blows cold air
- timing chain tensioner rattle while cold
Hopefully I would be able to reproduce the problems during a test drive, but if anyone has any advice, I appreciate it. Thank you so much in advance!

Here are the instruction to replaced the amp on the early models, although the models are different the component locations is similar. 2000-2003 Nissan Maxima Blower Motor Amplifier/Resistor Replacement Procedure
I have been here a few times for SES light problems. He installed a knock sensor without removing the intake manifold in 15 minutes. He had me buy the part on ebay. He saved me a few bucks.

sounds like the first thing you have to do is have the car put on a lift and check your front end. The clonking, and noise coming from front end might be due to wheel bearing, lca, sway bar links, etc.
timing chain noise is probably do to faulty chain guides, get those replaced, problem solved.
no heat could be a few things, does your blower fan work? if yes, check your coolant level and your hoses for circulation.
