Good for boost. Poor for N/A unless paired with supporting mods and tuned.

Or just delete VIAS. YOu can then take that to the next step and SSIM it.

It's better used as an expensive paperweight than as a performance mod.

Do the SSIM mod, and either paint or polish the manifold

HA! Im on it like green on red! Just got done reading a post about the ssim, and it seems a bit labor intensive, especially if imlookin to polish it inside. Should i be worried about going to far, or just clear the whole thing out?? Weak/ thin spots I should know about??

Ranmas is running one (and Ranmas is pushing over 400 ponies on his Maxima)

SFR intake manifold thread

If you search for "SFR manifold" you can find more threads about it

put it on a dyno. In reality you probably lost about 5hp. Kinetix manifolds are best used as paper weights. They do look good, I will give them that

Ok mr expert, can't dyno a CVT. All I know is my butt dyno sure felt a difference so I didn't find it useless.

Forgot about the CVT....sorry for your loss on that one. Not saying it is useless but every person I have known to have one has cracked. Why not port and polish?

Guys, seriously, $100 to get someone to do the SSIM on your intake, polish the outside, and you're good.

I wasn't planning on getting it, just got a good deal and decided to jump on it. I did hear that it was useless and I did only buy it for looks but I was surprised when I did feel a gain in top end. Is it worth $800 it depends on the person. My catback was more than that, and really didn't feel much gains from it.

why a fail on BOP and SSIM? I think it sounds better than the kinetix, cheaper, and is keeping it original to hot rodding. Im thinking thats the way to go after seeing the before/ after dynos.

its been proven to destroy low end power. I saw the dyno charts on stock manifold/BOP/SSIM variations on 6thgen.org

So what's a person to do for low end torque? It seems either choice weakens it. If I were to only do the spacer and bop would I still lose low end? There just doesn't seem to be a win win here.

stock intake manifold, VIAS delete, BOP and NWP spacers and you will see good gains across the board

Here you go http://my6thgen.org/f17/secret-sauce...-ssim-mod-618/. It is rare for 6th genners to have any good ideas related to performance but this thread actually has ideas and proof to back it up
