Maxima is starting all by itself!
My 2008 Maxima engine has started by itself 3 times in the last 10 days. I took it in to the dealer but they could not duplicate the problem. Has anyone else had this issue? The first time I considered that I may have been scatterbrained but the other two times I am positive that I turned off the engine. My car has the keyless start and if I walk away from the car with the key and the engine is on it will beep at me. The car did not beep so I know that the engine was off, yet when I have returned my car is locked but running.
you obviously have a defective key fob, defective "brain/module"or you are activating it from your pocket. the only option you have is to replacing each one until the problem stops. i would suggest gutting the stock stuff and buy an aftermarket viper alarm/remote start.

I've never heard a car starting on it's own but my assumptions is the push start ignition is sending a positive signal or your car has a mind of it's own. My car use to lock on it's own and the windows would wind up but it stopped. Electrical is a b*#@h and diagnosing is a pain in the rear
