climate control harness ripped out when thieves stole my radio. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!
i hate to introduce myself to this comunity this way. well my story goes like this, i just bought a 04 maxima literally yesterday. i parked it outside my house (i dont live in a bad community, but i just prefer to park in my driveway, now i know why) well i parked it there because my other car was awaiting me to finish cleaning the garage, so it was taking up my space. well to make a long story short, my TV radio i put in there upon arival to my house was stolen.
the radio was stolen, and the thieves did such a sloppy job that they literally yanked the climate control out as they were working their way up to get the radio out. so now im stuck with my climate control wires ripped out of the plug. we just got hit with this blizard in NY and i dont even have the heat to defog the front nor rear windows. can someone PLEASE! help me ASAP! can i fix myself? i need to get this done ASAP!!!!!! i cant put my child in a car with no heat. please and thank you to anyone with a answer for me.

lol now another question i have, those wires are EXTREMELY thin. so with that said, would i splice it as i would any other wire? just twist together and electric tape? because i HIGHLY doubt ill be able to find a connector that thin
Yes, that´s precisely what I had to do , when some jerk ripped my stereo and my ac controller off my 4th gen...I went to a junkyard picked up the connectors making sure that they were cut as long as they can so I can connect each wire with their corresponding color and putting insulating tape on each on them.
You have to be patient, so you are able to do it.
Have fun!

I'm sorry for what happened to you. The same thing happened to me last year. This is the flat harness that plugs into the back of the climate control unit, right? If I remember correctly, it connects to a grey box (not sure exactly what it's called or what its function is).
What I ended up doing was going to a junkyard and replacing everything. The thieves who got me even took my info screen, so I had to get that too. My harness was ripped just like yours, and there was really no way to fix that - something that flat will be next to impossible to solder / repair by hand. Sorry man... I had a pretty hard time finding those parts at my local yards, but eventually got lucky and the guy sympathized with me (his truck was just broken into as well) & gave me a really good deal on everything. Not sure exactly which parts you are in need of, but look on e-Bay. I see a few deals listed on there right now.
Here's one of them:

thank you sir! i really appreciate it. i just spoke with someone selling just the white box for 65 next day delivery. i believe thats what i need. my only question is is their a write up on how to install it? the guy im getting it from said something about if i wire it wrong that the speedo and stuff can stop working?

As long as the box has the harness attached and intact (would be terrible to receive one that is ripped just like your current one), installation will be as simple as bolting the box to the mounting sleeve and plugging in the harnesses where they fit. There's really not much error possible here apart from forgetting to plug in a harness; each harness corresponds to a particular connector, so mis-wiring it will be difficult.
Also, does your car have OEM navigation? If possible, check with the guy to see if the box you're considering came from a vehicle that had navigation or not. It may not matter but, personally when I was going through this ordeal last year, I made sure to get parts that matched the OEM makeup of my car. I believe if you have OEM nav, though, that there is yet another box that controls that.
If you need help with the disassembly or anything, check out this video:
In that video, that car has OEM nav, and you can actually see the additional smaller white box; that's the unit that I was referring to. at around the 3:00 mark, it's bolted underneath the larger box w/ the flat harness that you need to replace. If you don't have OEM nav, you can ignore the smaller box. It's just good to know for reference, I guess.

I actually had to drive my car without those parts a day, I believe the speedo was fine. The only thing that I did not have, obviously, was working heat.

Ok, well that's good. In that case you should be fine, although I'm admittedly not too knowledgeable about the operation of the navigation system (I don't have OEM nav either) but it still wouldn't hurt to see what kind of vehicle it's coming from, though (I've got an OCD about ordering stuff and receiving an incompatible part
).
).
thats true. im going to ask. thank you so much for all your help sir. i really appreciate it.
No problem. Sorry that you even have to go through all of this. I know the feeling, and boy does it suck. I made the best of it however and installed an aftermarket alarm / remote start right after I got everything fixed (I suppose that really should have been the first thing that I did when I got the car, but you live and you learn, I guess).
Keep us updated if you get a chance, let us know how the install goes.

Install literally takes 15 minutes. I have a custom gps write up somewhere on here that talks about how to take the dash pieces apart with pics if the video doesn't do it for you. In the mean time, you might want to invest in the rainx defogger wipes for the inside windows. It works pretty good without using defrost. Also invest in a small heater that plugs into your lighter. Truck stops sell them. Not sure where else though.
Thanks for the tip, p. Going to grab some of these from AutoZone tomorrow. With the gas crisis here in the tri state area, I am trying to use my AC to defog as little as possible. Trying to keep her below 3,000 RPMS and idle as little as possible, too. Making matters worse, the stations around here still only have 87.
