Looking at a 2006 Maxima
Im looking at buying my first Maxima, a 2006 6spd manual se model. IT runs and drives great however it seems the clutch is extremely stiff and i dont know if that is stock or aftermarket? It has 130k on it and leads me to believe that the clutch has been replaced. So im just wondering if the clutch is naturally stiff or if people usually put in aftermarket heavy duty ones. Thanks!

I also have a 2006 SE 6 speed. I just bought it last month. My clutch pedal was also very hard to pump and made me believe that the clutch was replaced with a high performance cluch like an os geiken cluch. I was right the cluch was replaced but it was an oem cluch as i later discovered. The problem that you have is that the clutch master cylinder is worn out and you need to replace it soon because it will fail and your clutch pedal will fall closer and closer to the floor. If tiy have experience with these kind of stuff i say go for it. I ended replacing the slave cylinder, the cluch soft line (mines was leaking) the master cylinder and the cluch pedal assembly (yes the hole pedal assembly it was $ 48 at nissan) all the parts are aprox. slave cylinder $25, clutch line @ nissan $15, cluch master ~$55 and the cluch pedal @ nissan $48. i recomend you read the factory service manual to install it correctly

Sorry it was difficult to get the pictures right in this forum. The bleeder screw there i show is supposed to be bled after you bleed the slave cylinder. The slave sylinder is difficult to get to but not impossible. the slave used an 8mm wrench and the top bleeder used a 12mm wrench. I also recomend that you put some lube on the slave cylinders push rod on both ends, a lube like silglide. good luck.
