Thermostat? Newbie Here BTW!!
I have a 2006 Maxima that i bought a year ago, car ran great for awhile then all kind of things started going wrong.... Broken battery terminals (no hold downs!), Can't move shifter from park (or back into reverse) with out using shift lock, SES light, U1000 codes.
Recently i made a 15 hr drive from chicago to texas, and half way through the drive, i lose the heater and my temp gauge dropped below "C". I dont know what to do. No leaks and radiator is full and has pressure.
this car has some issues! 105,000 miles and im the second owner. i take pretty good care of my vehicles, but all this just started happening a few months ago. ANY help would be appreciated!!!!

The t-stat doesn't just fail while your driving. It slowly gets weak over time.
Being everything in the car relies on sensors, chances are the coolant temp sensor took a dump and the HVAC system now can't determine the coolant temp (or thinks its cold) and therefore isn't allowing the system to provide heat.
