So im new to this but my 05 Maxima has no heat or ac. The dash lights up like normal. I can hear the the blower attempt to go but its makes a hissing noise really quick and then nothing. i need help cuz it is cold in the morning here in Norcal. Thanks!!

Oh and I just had the alternator replaced so Im not interested in taking it back to the shop lol!!

 

Bumping this for any more info. My car just did this tonight for the first time. I remote started it, and when I got in the display showed the heat was on, but nothing was coming out of the vents. Tried turning it all the way up, toggling AC on and off, nothing. Shut the car off and restarted it and everything worked like normal. Some kind of computer hiccup? Anyone ever have this happen before?

 

Could be the resistor pack going in the blower motor. Its a simple replacement, part probably costs about $65 or so. I replaced mine earlier this year when the interior fan stopped working one morning.

Thanks for the info man. So far, it hasn't done it since that one time. Will keep an eye on it, and at least now I know what to look for when it comes time to fix it.

 

In just about any car when the blower doesn't come on it can either be a relay a fuse or the resistor. In most cases when the blower only works on certain settings like High only, then its definitely the resistor!
