Headlight bulb holder/mount broken. Any replacement?

This is a part on 04 6th gen maxima.

At first, I would want to know the right name for this part.

It is the gray plastic cap which holds the headlight bulb, attached to the tail of the projector, and inside the plastic sealing cap. Around 2in in diameter.

As can be seen in the photo, I broke the clip on it (there were two in oposite positions).

Where would I be able to get a replacement part for it, rather than buying a whole assembly?

Only the stealership will be able to find you that. I'm sure you'll have to pay big bucks for it.

Thanks for the reply!

Well, if this is the case, how much is one assembly?

Maybe I should try to find some luck with junk yards...

Couldn't tell you man, never had to buy one. I don't know about the junk yards where you live but I've never seen a 6thgen maxima in any of our scrap yards, especially with a headlight still affixed to it. Usually these cars get stripped in the back and never make it out the the yard.

It might be hard to find a headlight with it because that is a main component and nobody will part out the headlight making the actual unit harder to sell.

Thank you so much!

To finish the story... I actually found it fairly easy to glue them on the projector. Most RTV silicone adhesive should work, and the glue I use is Permatex® Black Silicone Adhesive Sealant which sustain up to 500F degree. I think that should be enough otherwise the plastic itself would hardly hold. Could not wait longer as the trip to go. Right now, so far so good.

BTW, this finished my effort on replacing burnt bulbs with Philips HIR2 (9012). I think this model is the only available 9012 on the market, and they are hard to get at local stores. So maybe thinking of have one or two in hand. The rubber ring on the bulb is a bit of tight to fit into the projector, and that's how I accidentally broke this retainer.

luis narvaez, really appreciate your help. I will still purchase one as backup in case the glue failed. These plastic became so fragile when aged (and maybe also due to hash working conditions). Sometimes I just find it so hard to get something because you simply don't know its "official name". How did you make it? That's amazing!

Thanks to everyone, and Merry Christmas!
