Replacing struts and shocks! Recommendations?

I will soon be replacing my shocks and struts. I have a 2006 maxima se with 92k on the clock. I have had the car since 38k and noticed the suspension just isn't what it used to be. I was looking for recommendations one what all I should replace? Should I just replace the shocks and struts themselves or would it be necessary to replace the bearings and mounts? I'm in the south so I'm not worried about corrosion or anything. Suggestions?? THANK YOU!!!

Replace the bearings and mounts too, and do not buy the KYB mounts. KYB struts will give you a slightly firmer ride than OEM. If that's not what you're looking for, use the monroe's instead.

Will the strut mount kit come with mounts and bearings for both sides or only 1? I looked online at oreilly and autozone and saw no mention of if it came with one or 2 mounts and bearings

The mount kits are sold per side, and should come with the bearing. They will cost more, but I'd recommend the OEM mounts. If that's not possible, monroe and MOOG also make mounts which cost a little less. You could give those a shot.

Avoid KYB rear shocks, they will clunk when going over bumps, use Monroe's.
Avoid KYB front strut bearings, they will squeak in a month, use OEM's. Been there done that, you can trust this post. Good luck!

This man speaks the truth. Unfortunately I am running KYB struts, mounts AND rear shocks. Sounds like I have a popcorn machine under the hood, and I also have clunking from the rear. Going Monroe sometime soon.

Ok I think I'll get the oem bearings, I'm still gonna do some research and see what I can find as far as what the ride characteristics of each are. I'm really just looking for a smooth ride. Thanks for all the input!!

Would this include the bearing? Or would I have to purchase the bearing separately??

You'd have to buy bearings separately, they run for around 15-20 bucks per side for OEM's

I am also in need of new shocks/struts. I'm really glad I read this, as I was looking at the KYB's for my '04. Will go w/ the Monroes. Thanks guys!
