intake manifold spacers ?

ive had these for a while now but in the back of my mind it bothers me

the member i bought them from sugested to use a small amount of rtv on them. i did reluctantly even tho when i used simliar spacers in the past on other cars i never did.

when i installed naturally some rtv squeezed up and in the runners i could reach i wiped out the excessive. im pretty sure some spots i couldnt get too

does anyone with intake manifold spacers use rtv? do they seal fine without? i have no problem redoing them and maybe throw in some new coilpacks as preventive maintence

I have never seen spacers that you dont have to RTV....THe point of them is you can use RTV instead of having to buy a new gasket each time. I would highly recommend using RTV because even the best spacers are not perfectly flat nor is the mating surface. Air leaks suck, I know from expierence

Its hard to make RTV look pretty, the best you can do is match colors. The real pain in the *** is having to get old RTV off. good luck amigo

ha yea i use black all the time unless i need copper for exhuast stuff. i def used as little as possible. it just bugs me out when i see it squeeze into the runners and the point is to get a very smooth flow. so i used a long think screwdriver or whatever tool to get as much excesse on the inside as possible

For the main LIM/IM spacer, you CAN use 2 OEM spacers one on top and one on bottom, for the rest, not sure if that's feasible.

I did this because I'm always removing my IM for some weird reason, and getting the spacers and RTV off becomes a PITA.
