Anyone shortened their shifter?

I kind of wish the shifter of my max was a bit shorter. I really like how 350Z/G35s have short length shifters. Now, please dont tell me to get rid of my max and buy 350z/g35. I love my Max! I just want to shorten the shifter.

Any inputs/suggestions, guys?

I researched and couldnt find much info.

Yeah. If your manual, buy a short shifter and install it. :/

I am manual and I cant find any SS kit that will also have a shorter gear lever. The factory short throw is pretty good enough for me.

You don't make sense.
You ask about a STS and then say yours is fine.

Mine is AT/Tiptronic.All I did was drilled the stock **** just before the drill bit was about to drill through(you gotta measure it how deep can you go). Then I shortened the little plastic ring that "locks" the shift **** (from where it meets the **** so it can still have a smooth ending).I had to cut that because it was hitting the shift panel and couldn't get it low enough.Worked fine for me.Feels like I shortened the shaft/shifter ..and its REALLY low
