Long life highway tire???
This is my first post on this forum - nice to find it! We have a 2007 Maxima and live in a rural area, so 90% of our driving mileage is on the highway, as it's a 60 mile round trip even to the nearest small town. Just this morning, for example, I ran an errand to a couple of stores and put over 100 miles on the road.
I'm trying to find the best high-mileage tires for this car. I'm not really into curve-hugging performance, so that's not really a concern, and being in central Texas, snow isn't a factor, either. We do have scorching-hot summers, though, which can wear down a highway tire pretty quick.
As we all know, the low-profile Maxima tires are "high performance" tires, which by definition tend to have softer tread compounds and thus don't last all that long. Does anybody have a recommendation for a tire for this car, with the longest possible tread life in these conditions?

I second the Primacy...
The Michelin Primacy MXV4 is an awesome tire.
I purchased mine at the end of December 2009 and drive an average of 15,000 a year.
So long story short, I've put over 30,000 highway miles on them and I still have decent tread to get me through this summer.
I'll probably need a new set before the end of this year.

If you live in the snow belt and change over to a dedicated snow tire then I recommend the Michelin X-Ice Xi3.

Michelin's are expensive but they really are awesome tires and I think money well spent.
