HID fog light replacement - fitting issues

Hello,

I have a 2007 Maxima SE and am attempting to replace the oem fog lights with an aftermarket HID kit. However the issue I'm having is that the HID bulb doesn't seem to fit and lock into the fog light housing.

Bulb size for the fog light is H11, and that is the same size HID bulb I have. When I compare the two bulbs side by side the 3 notches seem to line up the same, however I just cannot get the HID bulb to fit.

Has anyone had this issue? I did a search on this forum and could not find a similar case, therefore I am creating this thread.

Any input would be appreciated, thank you.

You may have to trim the HID bulb plastic part. Do you have the bumper off.

Did you position the rubber o ring gasket between the locking tabs and the bulb? It is not a super tight fit but it should stay put.

Update on post:

Thank you for the responses, since my initial post of listing the issue I purchased another set of bulbs to confirm the fitting issues. And thankfully the new set seemed to line up and fit perfectly.

However my lights worked for a day and then completely do not turn on, is anyone running aftermarket HID's and using a RELAY?

i know ddm tuning kits have almost like a cardboard spacer under the grommet that has to be removed so it fits
