another gutting cats

I'm thinking since my car is in pristine shape (meaning no rust) now may be a good time to bring it to my mechanic and have the precats gutted and a y-pipe installed. I was thinking about getting the y-pipe from warpspeed($225).

Is this a reasonable plan? How much would you expect a mechanic to charge for this work? I may also go ahead and order a set of NWP spacers and have him install those as well. If it wasn't the middle of winter I would have pulled them out of my old car before it was hauled away.

Can do it all yourself if have some tools, especially the Spacers install, maybe a member will help you with the install or charge less to do the install over the shop, should check your Regional Forum to see if anyone is near you...

I've installed spacers before and it wasn't hard once I got started, but that's working from the top down. Working under the car with just a jack is not something I'm overly inclined to do unless it's gonna save me big bucks.

could someone move this to the 5th gen forum? Thanks
