Trunk Lift supports - Buy a set of StrongArm 4087
Surprisingly, I don't see them mentioned in the 6th gen forum, or search isn't working.
If, like me, your trunk slams shut endangering heads and limbs, get a pair of StrongArm 4078 trunk support lifts. So far, so great.
You'll also want some silicone or lithium grease, but that's cheap.
Apparently they're also under the name MightyLift.
Made by AVM industries. http://www.avmind.com/
Available on ebay and amazon. I got mine at www.liftsupportsdepot.com aka www.autopartsbylou.com
Here's a handy write-up (note that you want the gas cylinders down, not up, when installed).

Also surprising is that my stock hood support lifts seem to be working fine... Go figure.

Just got mine from autozone for 17.95 ea. Took about 10 min to install and now my trunk will stay open in any position. But more importantly, I no longer have to worry about losing a hand when getting groceries out of the car.
