Our 04 Maxima will no longer honk on lock. Just stopped working all of the sudden.

We have honk on lock turned on in settings and have exhausted ourselves holding down Lock and Unlock at the same time on the key fob. No blink from the head lights and then the windows roll down.

We even disconnected the battery for about 30 minutes and that didn't help either.

We took it to the dealer and they couldn't get it to honk on lock either. They wanted to diagnose the issue for $130!

Any suggestions on what else might be causing this issue?

The windows only roll down when the unlock button is held down, so it seems like the car thinks only that button is being held down. Have you tried another key fob or battery? Maybe the lock button is loose and only works momentarily?

I had the exact same problem nothing would work and all settings were right so I took mine apart and got a new battery has worked correctly every sense

I put a new battery in before I went to reprogram the remote. Just for grins... I did it again this morning and reprogrammed the remote. Still won't honk on lock.

The horn works when you push the sterring wheel. Is there a separate horn that is used for keyless entry?

Still haven't figured this out. Guess we will need to take it to the stealership.

My wife was complaining about this problem. She finally Googled it, and came upon the Maxima Forum. She tried all the suggestions, then went out to look at her car. She found one of the doors had not been shut all the way. Problem solved!!!
