Jump started car, fuel gauge messed up. Help

Hey, The other day I jump started. Did not take long started right up with the booster pack. Then when I got into my car ,I noticed the fuel gauge was on empty. After looking at it further the needle was on the opposite side of the pin or stopper whatever you want to call it. So the needle could not move up. If anyone knows how to fix it please let me know. Its been three days now and still stuck there. Thanks for your time.

The "easy" way: Get a _strong_ magnet or stack of magnets. With the car turned off, place it over the gauge from the front, over the plastic face. The needle will react. Coax it up and over back to the correct side of the pin. It will take a few attempts. Be careful, you may scratch the plastic. Once flipped back over, the car (at least in my case) reads the gauge fine. Unfortunately for me, I had to jump the car again, and the same thing happened, and now I don't have access to the same magnet...
