Check to ensure that your fans are coming on with the ac. I had this problem on my 4th gen and it was caused by a burned rad fan relay.

Possibly poor air flow getting through your radiator. Check to make sure nothing is blocking the radiator or a/c condensor fins.

Here is the link to the air conditioning service manual pdf. I recommend conducting the automatic self test to ensure your system is operating correctly as the first step. Post results when complete.

I was driving uphill and it started to overheat without the a/c on and next week will be doing a block test to see if the head gasket is going out, if its is the head gaskets the mechanic quoted me 1͵200$ for the job.

just get a new "used" engine for $800 once you tear these engines down unless you are going all out with upgrades and repairs it will never be the same. Get a low mileage engine and swap them out. I can tell you if it is the head gasket. Open your oil fill cap and look at the bottom. Is it milky, then yes you have a head gasket leak. You might have a coolant leak somewhere. Check your fluids. Are they the right color and full? You could also have a bad thermostat.

What evidence do you have that the engines aren't the same after opening them
up??? I would think that if the work being done is handled by professionals then there shouldn't be an issue

Could be blocked radiator. Have you ever used stop-leak additive of any sort? Additives can block passages. If you have new t-stat, new water pump, there is really nothing else left to blame but radiator.

This is a pretty dumb argument to even have and a complete waste of time. If you have ever had your engine torn down and repaired than you would never even ask this question. Nothing on a car is the same as they are from the factory after being taken apart and put back together. Torque specs, alignments, material used, etc.

I do agree with your second statement. There shouldn't be an issue. However doesn't mean there won't be an issue. If you want evidence of that just browse the net and read the horror stories of people taking their cars in for work by "Professionals" and getting back more problems than they started with. People make mistakes and mistakes can cost you.

Of course the engine will never be the same with a brand new head gasket (if it is a bad gasket). It will be a "like new" engine for Christ's sake.
