free at last.....

To quote a great American...just traded in my 2007 maxima for a new Subaru forester. It had 130K miles on it and had numerous problems in the past year. To list a few; replaced radiator and thermostat (overheating) front CV joints, ignition coil pack (one of 6), paint was fading and the dealer installed window tint was peeling off. Check engine light was on when we traded it in and the guys at autozone said the code was for replacing both catalytic converters (for $3k). Needless to say I'm delighted to be done with this car. I'll miss the stereo and the jippy drive (when it worked) but not the worries about constant repairs.

Mostly let me thank you all for the numerous fix tips that I received on this website. Truly amazing folks here and I'm deeply indebted to you all. I managed to get $6k for a trade in which speaks volumes as to the resale of this car. I bought it after owning a spectacular 1996 maxima that I parted with after essentially 175K touble-free miles. Too bad the 2007 sucked soooo bad. They've lost a customer for life.

Best,
Garydude

Good luck with the Subaru. I just drove 2012 Forester and it seemed like a nice car.

I am happy with my 6th gen. You just bought a **** car, hey it happens no matter what car they hidden lemons just exist. My max has taken a beating from my right foot and still holds up strong. However I believe in upgrading when I switch cars. The 7th gen was not the kind of upgrade worth the money. It was a huge disappointment. I will not buy another maxima unless it is faster, better looking, better handling and better braking.

not unless the next maxima can beat 300hp and RWD or AWD I will never consider one again. The maxima has always been faster than the other sedans now its dragging behind barely taking the edge. When maximas struggle to outrun a new civic SI its time to reevaluate.
