Seems like you need to do a lot more research before you start messing with forced induction. Be prepared to spend a crap load of money because horsepower doesnt come cheap!

Like mentioned before, you need to do more research. You don't put a prebuilt exhaust system that was designed for a naturally aspirated engine on a turbo'd car. You are going to have to install a custom exhaust for the turbo. The magnaflow mufflers can still be used, and the intake is not going to work unless you somehow manage to make it fit with the turbo. I can't think of any way it will work.

You need to slow it down a bit. First off, Cold air intake with a turbo kit might not fit, most ppl just take a pipe from the compressor side of the turbo and attach a pod filter at the end. yes, a custom exhaust is obviously needed when turboing a car. But by the sound of your inquisitiveness, you are not ready for this.

1. Is your car Automatic or Manual? If it's Automatic...stop here...read no more and get the whole turbo thing outta ur mind. If you can not figure out the reason why i Say this, then you really don't know much about cars and should not be considering such a big performance upgrade at all.

2. How much driving experience do you have? Turbo's are serious business and is not for beginner drivers. Once you are in boost you're gonna need to know how to handle the car. You can get yourself killed if you cannot handle the increase in speed and power.

3. Do you have the money for this type of project? Not only do you have to have the money for the parts and labor, you also need a tune. Not to mention upgrading the brakes for added stopping power and supporting engine mods.

4. Why do you want to turbocharge your Maxima? If you want a turbo kit only because you like the sound a turbo makes when spooling up or from the blow off valve then stop here...again.

or you want to go fast...refer to number 2

If this Maxima is your daily driver then boost is not the way to go. You are sacrificing reliability. Honestly, it sounds like you are really uneducated on this whole car modding thing. That's like Brian O'Connor asking for 2 tanks of NOS...you'll blow yourself to pieces.

Do intake and exhaust. Leave the turbo for future time.

thank you for the replies. All these mods are not going to happen any time soon. I just need to know some of this stuff for future references. My maxima is an automatic but im going to try and get a 6speed manual conversion and hopefully an AWD swap if possible. The turbo on the other hand is the last thing im probably going to do to this car. This car is going to be a very long project. Thank you.

i actually thought about that, but i actually want this car to be a challenge project, plus i absolutely love the maximas (2004-2006). The only problem i have with the newer maximas is the CVT transmissions.
