NEW Transmission, still not fixed

My local dealership has had my 07 Maxima 3.5 for 3 weeks. It will pull until 35mph or so and just stop pulling, no lights on, no codes, new battery. They warrantied the transmission thinking that must be the problem and its still doing the same thing. They finally told me they have no clue what is wrong. I just started a claim with corporate today and a service tech is supposed to be calling me tomorrow.

Anyone ever had similar problems? My local dealership said they have never seen anything like it. Local mechanics just more less tell me to just part it out.

07 Maxima 3.5 SL Fully loaded minus navigation
106k miles

If it's not the transmission, then it has to be something to do with the motor. I would venture to guess if it seemed like a transmission issue and a new one didn't do the job, then it could be those damned Camshaft position sensors. When they fail, the whole car is pretty much screwed. I have seen them fail without throwing a code right away. The dealer could have also tried going the cheap route and put in a rebuilt trans that failed off the bat. More than likely they will try and put a new trans in again. I recommend sitting back and watching the show, make nissan own the problem and give you money for it if they can't fix it. Don't let them drop that problem in your lap. Once you leave the lot, you will own the problem. If they misdiagnosed it and in turn had you purchase a new trans, then demand a refund for the cost of the transmission.

sounds like theres an electrical problem with the engine. agreed with just sit back and watch the show, only a bonus because i cant see a legit way they can charge you for misdiagnosing the transmission issue. versus putting in your old one, id say youre getting the new trans for free

I already picked it up because they said since the tranny didnt fix it they would start charging me labor to start trial and erroring the car and checking grounds and all that jazz. They werent very cooperative with me. Thats why I started a claim with corporate. I cant wait to see what they come up with. I live about an hour from memphis tenessee so it wont surprise me if I wont have to trailor to the dealersgip over there because they are much better than my local.

the whole drivetrain is under warranty correct? its in no way your fault that a new trans didnt fix it, if its under warranty they should have done the trial and error in the first place to properly fix it

corporate should hopefully do something, the way i see it they should now do trial and error under warranty. if they dont want to spend time on trial and error they can replace the whole engine under warranty

Negative as far as I know only the transmission is under warranty until 120k. The car only had it until 60/100k? My car is at 106k right now

I would take it back and tell them to fix it. I would talk with the service manager, and if they didn't work with me, walk next door and talk to the dealer manager. Had to do this at my dealership once, and that was all it took. The service manager works for the dealer manager so that is your local corporate ladder. I would have never taken the car to begin with, you could be causing more damage by doing so. Did you pay for an initial diagnostic for the transmission? If so then the problem should be covered under that, if not then you still need to pay for the initial diagnostic. If some idiot at the service department said well transmission without diagnosing it properly, then they are messed up.

I never had to pay the $60 diagnostic fee. Heck I never had to sign any papers when I picked it up. Im not driving it, I live 2 miles from the dealer. I just drove it to my apartment and parked it.

lol, they probably just put it on the side and didn't even get to it. You would most definitely have to sign paperwork and should receive a paper with everything that they did to it. You should get it fixed now that corporate is on em.

Thats kinda how I feel lol, but being almost 3 weeks without a vehicle is starting to get old. My back up vehicle I tore down 6 weeks ago to start doing a LS Swap in with a 76mm turbo. And ofc my daily gibes up on me not long after lol.

if you complain enough, most dealers will give you a complementary rental until it is fixed. I got one for 2 weeks when they did my trans.
